County News

  • October 09, 2013

Jackson County Farm Bureau was represented at the Youth Variety Contest on October 7, 2013 at Rockcastle County High School by Blake Davis. Blake is the son of Larry Jason and Amanda Davis of Annville. Blake is 14 years old and played the piano and sang, “Your Cry Has Woken The Master.” He was chosen as the winner of the contest and will be playing piano and singing at the Kentucky Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Louisville on December 6, 2013. Congratulation to Blake for a job well done!

Jackson County also had two entries in the Outstanding Youth Contest. Contestants must present a 2 minute speech concerning Agriculture or Farm Bureau and they also have a personal interview. The two Outstanding Youth contestants were Angel Vanzant, daughter of Everett and Jessica Vanzant of Gray Hawk and Aaron Adams, son of Tim and Beverly Adams of McKee.

Jackson County Farm Bureau is very proud of the youth in the county. They have had several winners and runners-up in the past and are always ready to sponsor students in these contests.
The Outstanding Youth and Variety contests are just two of many youth programs Kentucky Farm Bureau sponsors including Ag in the Classroom, Local and State Scholarships, and IFAL.
