Community Focus - Environmental Field Day

On September 24th at Sandgap Park, Jackson County Farm Bureau took part in the Environmental Field Day sponsored by the Jackson County Conservation District. This event is held each year and involves each of the local elementary schools. This year 4th Grades from McKee, Sandgap, and Tyner Elementary Schools were given information by representatives from Fish and Wildlife, Water, Gun Safety and several other groups.

Jackson County Farm Bureau along with Trooper Robert Prudy, from the Richmond State Police Post gave students a lesson in ATV Safety. The students learned about riding ATV’s safely and about equipment needed to protect them while riding. It was a very informative and fun day for the students and also for the presenters.
