Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) announced two annual award winners today: Sam Moore of Butler County, and former KFB president, has been named the Distinguished Service to Agriculture recipient and James Stuecker of Hardin County is the 2019 Distinguished Service to Farm Bureau Award winner.

Two Kentuckians are being awarded significant honors from Kentucky Farm Bureau. Brooke Stansbury of Knox County is the 2019 KFB Communications Award winner and Julie Fritsch of Bourbon County has been named the 2019 Farm Public Relations Award recipient.

Pulaski County farmer Mark Haney was re-elected Kentucky Farm Bureau President on the concluding day of the organization’s 99th annual meeting. Also re-elected was Webster County’s Eddie Melton as First Vice-President. Sharon Furches of Calloway County was elected as Second Vice-President, taking the place of Hart County’s Fritz Giesecke who retired from the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation Board Saturday.

Drew and Liz White of Union County were honored as Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) “2018 Outstanding Young Farm Family” at the 99th KFB Annual Meeting in Louisville. The award, given yearly, recognizes a couple or individual under 35 that demonstrates the strongest farm management skills, community and KFB involvement, and consistent financial growth through their farm.

Alexia Lawson of Breathitt County is the recipient of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 2018 Women’s Educational Grant. The announcement was made at the organization’s 99th annual meeting, held at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville. The $1,500 Women’s Educational Grant is awarded annually to a non-traditional, female student who is interested in resuming her education after previously leaving school to fulfill either family of work-related responsibilities.

Brian Welch, of Hopkins County, won first place in the final round of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) Discussion Meet, a debate-styled competition for young farmers that relies on an individual’s skill in reasoning and logical discussion of issues. The event was one of the highlighted activities of Friday night’s general session during KFB’s annual meeting in Louisville.
