More than 300 young farmers and farm families from across Kentucky are expected to gather this weekend for the Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) Young Farmer Leadership Conference at the Embassy Suites in Lexington.

Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) is proud to announce its Emerald Sponsorship for the 2019 4- H Emerald Gala. The Emerald Sponsorship is the top commitment available for the gala that showcases 4-H Emerald Award Winners as well as the 4-H program in Kentucky. Funding for the sponsorship is provided from both Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation and Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance.

Drew And Liz White Named Kentucky Farm Bureau's 2018 Outstanding Young Farm Family

Drew and Liz White of Union County were honored as Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) “2018 Outstanding Young Farm Family” at the 99th KFB Annual Meeting in Louisville. The award, given yearly, recognizes a couple or individual under 35 that demonstrates the strongest farm management skills, community and KFB involvement, and consistent financial growth through their farm.

Brian Welch Wins Kentucky Farm Bureau Discussion Meet

Brian Welch, of Hopkins County, won first place in the final round of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) Discussion Meet, a debate-styled competition for young farmers that relies on an individual’s skill in reasoning and logical discussion of issues. The event was one of the highlighted activities of Friday night’s general session during KFB’s annual meeting in Louisville.

Finalists Named for the 2018 Outstanding Young Farm Family Award

Three finalists have been named for the 2018 Kentucky Farm Bureau OYFF honor, in recognition of their achievements as part of the farming community. The finalists are Nicholas and Bethany Hardesty of Meade County, Wesley and Alicia Logsdon of Pulaski County, and Drew and Liz White of Union County. The winner will be announced at the Kentucky Farm Bureau Annual Meeting at the end of November.

“I’m just getting involved with the Young Farmer program in my county and looking forward to being more involved,” Thomas Folz of Christian County said. “It gives me a chance to network with other farmers from around the state and do things that gives back to the community.”
