Tina McWhorter receives 2015 Women’s Educational Grant
Posted on Dec 6, 2014Louisville, KY (December 6, 2014) – Tina McWhorter, of Corinth, KY, in Grant County, is the recipient of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 2015 Women’s Educational Grant. The announcement was made at the organization’s 95th annual meeting, held at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.
The $1,500 Women’s Educational Grant is awarded annually to a female non-traditional student who is interested in resuming her education after leaving school to fulfill either family or work-related responsibilities.
McWhorter currently works for the Kentucky Community and Technical College Systems – Gateway Campus in Florence, KY. She is simultaneously enrolled in undergraduate studies at Northern Kentucky University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership. With the assistance offered through the KFB Women’s Educational Grant, McWhorter is better able to financially support her studies and can pursue the education and training needed to reach her goal of teaching management or computer courses.
In her grant application, McWhorter stated that completing her undergraduate degree would help expand her career growth options and also open the possibility of pursuing additional education at the graduate level.
