Posted on Sep 24, 2014
CBOT futures are trading higher led by the Wheat markets. Wheat futures are supported by short-covering (trading funds are huge shorts) and some export business. Corn is also bouncing off new contract lows on technical buying. A continued surge in soybean oil futures is holding up soybean futures.

Cattle futures are lower with midday boxed beef near steady after dropping hard on Tuesday.

Lean Hog futures are mixed with nearby October weaker as midday pork values are off slightly. Traders are preparing for Friday’s Hogs and Pigs Report. All hogs is estimated to be 96.7%, kept for breeding is estimated to be 101.7%, and kept for market is estimated to be 96.2%.
