Market Update - July 21, 2014

Posted on Jul 21, 2014
CBOT futures are lower as U.S. growing conditions are excellent and extended forecasts don’t show any problems. Corn and wheat futures are technically weak, hitting new contract lows. November Soybeans are testing last week’s contract low.

Cattle futures are higher following through on Friday’s strength related to better-than-expected cash cattle prices. At midday, Choice Beef is up 2.02 cents.

Lean hog futures are also trading similar to Friday’s action with the nearby August LH contract down sharply on cash hog concerns.

Financial markets are weaker on the uncertainty of geo-political situations in the Ukraine and the Middle East.
