Market Update - December 24, 2014
Posted on Dec 24, 2014Cattle futures are little changed except for the nearby December and February LC contracts which look to be supported by Tuesday’s very strong boxed beef prices. However, December LC is at a premium to last week’s cash trade of $157-160.
Lean Hog futures are mixed with prices not reacting to Tuesday’s Quarterly Hogs and Pigs Report as would be expected. The report indicates larger herd expansion than the average trade guess. Midday pork values are near steady.
