CBOT futures closed mixed with minimal price changes. Soybean futures are consolidating the big gains posted Thursday from signs that China may be more open to trade talks. Traders are generally waiting to see how tomorrow’s election turns out and to see the USDA supply-demand updates midday Thursday.

US Soybeans Harvested
83% vs 89% year ago and 89% for 5-year average.
Both live and feeder cattle futures opened near steady but have closed sharply lower, led by the feeder cattle market. Short-term chart support gave way on the nearby contracts. Choice beef edged up .09 to 218.59 and Select gained .88 to 202.35.
Lean Hog futures tried to move higher but quickly headed south with the cattle market. FOB Plant Pork down 21 to 7486.
