CBOT futures closed lower led by soybeans and meal as the spec funds were heavy sellers. A stronger US Dollar and crude oil futures losing the early gains weighed on the market. Planting weather continues to be favorable.

Cattle futures closed sharply higher on short-covering and weaker CBOT futures. June Live Cattle futures discount to the cash cattle prices has been supportive. Choice beef down 0.32 at 204.42; Select down 0.15 at 195.50.

Lean Hog futures closed slightly higher today with a narrower trading range within the limits of yesterday’s trading range. FOB Plant Pork gained .66 to 83.12 on an 8% gain in belly value.
