Market Closes - July 26, 2016
Posted on Jul 26, 2016CBOT futures closed mixed for a second day with prices mostly going the opposite direction seen yesterday. Corn futures traded inside Monday’s trading ranges. Soybeans were supported by a warmer forecast. Wheat futures were hit hard after a 3-day rally, but today’s prices remain above last week’s lows.
Cattle futures closed higher, adding to Monday’s big gains (2016 contracts were limit up). Choice carcasses up 1.34 at 199.93; Select up 1.38 at 190.82.
Lean Hog futures closed much lower especially in the nearby August LH contract on weak fundamentals. FOB Plant Pork fell a sharp 2.38 to 86.51. Bellies fell over 6% in value; hams dropped 4%.
