Blue Grass Stockyards Cattle Weekly Summary Report for the week ending 08/28/12 Receipts:  2,473   Last Week:  2,027   Year Ago:  2,291 Compared to last weekÂ’s sale steer and heifer calves sold steady to 2.00 higher with good demand; some featherweight calves 5.00 to 10.00 higher with very good demand.  Yearling steers limited comparison.  Yearling heifers steady to firm in a limited comparison.  Slaughter cows sold 1.00 to 3.00 lower with light to moderate demand.  Slaughter bulls sold steady with good demand. Total supply included 07% slaughter cows, 02% slaughter bulls, 1% replacements and 90% feeders.  Feeder supply 40% steers, 15% bulls, 45% heifers with 68% of feeders weighing over 600 lbs.
