Kentucky Farm Bureau Discussion Meet Finalist NamedPosted on Jul 22, 2021
Covington, KY (July 17, 2021) Ben Prevette from Hopkins County, Caleb Smithson from Butler County, Molly Sullivan from Taylor County, and Chris Thomas from LaRue County were all named finalist for the 2021 Kentucky Farm Bureau Discussion Meet following the preliminary rounds held during the Women and Young Farmer Leadership Summit in Covington, Kentucky this weekend.
The KFB Discussion Meet is a debate-styled competition for young farmers that relies on an individual’s skill in reasoning and logical discussion of issues. KFB’s Discussion Meet tests entrants on their basic knowledge of critical farm issues and their ability to respond in a panel-type discussion.
The finals of the 2021 Discussion Meet will take place at the 102nd Kentucky Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in December in Louisville. The winner of the competition will receive a utility task vehicle courtesy of Southern Farm Bureau Life and Jacobi Sales in addition to other prizes. The winner will go on to represent Kentucky in the national competition at the 2022 American Farm Bureau convention in January in Atlanta and will be vying a new Ford truck.
