Louisville, KY (March 26, 2012) – David S. Beck, Executive Vice President of Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation, announced today that Fran K. McCall, an Oldham County native, has been named Commodity Specialist. Her appointment is effective April 16, 2012.

In this new role, McCall will assist the Commodity Director and the Commodity Division by serving as a liaison to selected commodity groups and agriculture agencies.  Her position will help the organization continue to represent the interest of the membership and administer programs designed to improve net farm income.

McCall gained valuable experience through her work with the Kentucky Shorthorn Association, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Department of Shows and Fairs, and as a teaching assistant and livestock judging coach for the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture. McCall comes to Kentucky Farm Bureau after serving almost three years as an extension agent in McLean County for the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service.

“Fran is passionate about agriculture and will make a strong addition to the Kentucky Farm Bureau staff,” said Beck. “Her first-hand knowledge of ag in Kentucky makes this a natural fit.”

McCall holds an Agriculture degree with an emphasis in Animal Science from Western Kentucky University and a Masters in Animal Science with an emphasis in Ruminate Nutrition from the University of Kentucky. She and her husband, David, also show livestock.
