I’m not sure if this is an age thing or not, but it seems to me that the older I get the more I reflect on the past, taking in all the moments and memories that have guided me to where I am today as a person, a husband, a father, a soon-to-be grandfather, and a communicator.

As much as I love this digital age we live in, at least when it comes to gathering information, I still am a bit old fashion in that I love the printed word; not files on a smart phone or computer but actual print in a newspaper, or magazine, or book.

Things sure have changed a lot since I was a kid.
As I was growing up, we always had a few milk cows. To buy milk at the grocery store was laughable, we had our own! Most families grew their own food, as everyone had a garden.

While Kentucky high school seniors are preparing for graduation, their thoughts are turning to the future. For many students, this means college – and finding a way to pay for tuition. Later this spring, the Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation will award college scholarships ranging from $400 to $4,000 to 95 high school seniors pursuing a four-year degree.

Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) is proud to announce its Emerald Sponsorship for the 2019 4- H Emerald Gala. The Emerald Sponsorship is the top commitment available for the gala that showcases 4-H Emerald Award Winners as well as the 4-H program in Kentucky. Funding for the sponsorship is provided from both Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation and Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance.

Sarah Howard, a teacher at Newton Parrish Elementary School in Daviess County, is the recipient of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 2018 Excellence in Ag Literacy Award. The announcement was made at the organization’s 99th annual meeting, held at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.

KFB and county Farm Bureau organizations provided 402 college scholarship grants this year totaling $465,400. The scholarships were awarded to recipients who displayed the greatest levels of academic excellence, involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership abilities and financial need.
