A feature report on a true Kentucky tradition; the “conservation writing and art” contests, one of which, has been underway here since the 1940’s.  Comments from Johnna McHugh, the assistant director of the state division of conservation, who says this year’s theme is “water is life.”  The initial contest entry deadline is December 1.
