FoodChain, Inc. of Lexington has been awarded a small ag development grant to help in its development of an indoor closed loop hydroponics system to raise tilapia and greens. The group’s executive director, Rebecca Self, says they already have a product buyer lined up for their crops. She says the facility will provide training to farmers interested in trying their hand at hydroponics.
