Posted on Jul 29, 2013Giving newer farmers a leg up with a local cost share program is what Washington County farm leaders are doing through their local Phase I tobacco payment revenue. Local extension agent Rick Greenwell says their ag development council will match investments of qualified newer farmers, up to $5,000, which has in the past proved very effective in establishing these ‘up and coming’ farmers.
