“The bees are biting back,” and we’re going to spread that trait to bee hives across Kentucky to stop the loss of hives from the varroa mite; that’s the intent of Dorothey Morgan, President of the Kentucky Queen Bee Breeders Association. A new trait “mite biting” trait has emerged among some hives and efforts are underway to spread that to hives throughout Kentucky.
