There’s a new push between USDA and the Ky Department of Ag to make credit card-type buying transactions available at farmers markets to allow those on food assistance programs to make purchases there. KDA’s Sharon Spencer says USDA is providing the equipment free of charge to enable their clients to take greater advantage of fresher, healthier foods grown in their local areas.
