An update on growth in the grape and wine sector of agriculture in the state. Patsy Wilson, UK extension viticulturist, says a 2012 spring freeze and the drought both impacted the production season, but despite a 30% reduction in state yield, current demand is leading to existing and new growers looking into expanded acreage for 2013.
