Feldhaus visits with UK forage specialist, Ray Smith, about successful testing and development of a tall fescue variety that grows well in this region’s soil and climate conditions, and which avoids a negative impact that some other tall fescue varieties have, negatively impacting weight gain in cattle.  The new variety was perfected at UK and bears the name of Gary Lacefield, long-time UK forage specialist, now retired.
