From Pike County to Graves, some 38 Kentucky high schools have developed “Junior Chef” teams for a statewide competition culminating at the Ky State Fair. Tina Garland, program coordinator with the Ky Department of Agriculture, says teams use locally grown food ingredients to develop recipes, many of which, become staples in their school cafeteria offerings.
