A feature report with Shane and Mary Courtney of Shelby County, recently selected as the state’s Outstanding Young Farm Family at the Farm Bureau annual meeting earlier this month. The Courtney’s started farming, from scratch, on 45 acres in 2006 and now manage almost 600 acres growing corn, soybeans, and burley; and growing vegetables for wholesale. The couple will represent Kentucky next month at the national competition at the American Farm Bureau convention in San Antonio.
