A follow-up report on a recent UK study on the return on investment of tobacco settlement funds across the state. While the return generally ran about $2 per $1 invested, Ag economist, Alison Davis, says that’s a conservative estimate. She also points to several categories of projects, like developing infrastructure, which do not have immediate economic payback, but are designed to develop and enhance future farm product sales.
