Across KentuckyKentucky is the largest cattle state east of the Mississippi River, utilizing its rich forage base for hay and pasture to support its substantial cow/calf operations.  UK forage specialist Ray Smith talks about an upcoming “advanced grazing school” (Aug 17) to explore the introduction of warm season grasses to the state’s traditional cool season forage crop mix which could be a very cost effective investment to expand feed sources.
