Posted on Aug 17, 2012A report with the Kentucky Association of Food Banks CEO, Tamara Sandburg, in Berea, on a project whereby these groups can make use of food items, ‘seconds,’ that don’t make the grade for commercial sale, but are perfectly healthy and nutritious for consumers. The association has acquired grant monies that will offer farmers at least enough incentive to cover harvesting costs to get these foods to families in need.
