Kentucky’s growing poultry industry could hold some additional value for corn and soybean producers who could use an industry by-product, chicken litter, as a soil amendment and fertilizer. UK researchers are now in the process of getting some solid numbers on how chicken litter could improve soils and enhance plant growth.
