Young Farmer Summer Outgoing July 9-11, 2015

Pikeville, Kentucky Hilton Garden Inn / Hampton Inn & East Kentucky Exposition Center

 

Thursday, July 9th

7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Optional Outdoor Family Adventure Opportunities (Busses depart from Hampton Inn)

Zip, Paddle, and Saddle Come and enjoy all that the mountains of Pikeville have to offer. From soaring through the trees on the new White Lightning Zip-Lines, to paddling down the quite serene Levisa Fork River and riding through the mountain side on horseback, there is something for everyone in the family. The Zip, Paddle, and Saddle packages offer a full day of these amazing opportunities and experiences. Come and see just how much this mountain haven has to offer! Each activity requires approximately 1½ – 2 hrs and ranges in price from $15.00 to $20.00 per adult/child. (Fees have been deeply discounted for our group.) Participants will need to pre-register for these optional activities while registering for the outing online at kyfb.com/yfsummer. A limited number of people can participate at any given time. Time preferences will be honored on a first come – first serve basis.

12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Opening Luncheon - East Kentucky Expo Center, 2nd Floor Event Space       

1:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Optional Outdoor Family Adventure Opportunities & Tour

Hatfield and McCoy Tour (Busses depart from East Kentucky Expo Center)

Tour #1 – Coal Keeps the Lights On- Portal 31 - Lunch At Kentucky Coal Museum Tour #2 – Fun and Amazement (Kid-Friendly) – Lunch at Floyd County Extension Office Tour #3 – Utilizing and Crafting Nature - Lunch at Artisan Center Tour #4 – Shock and Awe - Lunch at Jenny Wiley State Park

6:00 p.m. Dinner at Pikeville Community Park The Young Farmer Summer Outing will conclude Saturday evening with a short walk to the Pikeville Community Park, where there will be plenty of food, great music and fun for kids and adults of all ages.

8:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Muscle on Main Following dinner, participants can walk to Main Street where they will find car enthusiasts from all over the United States cruising into Pikeville for Muscle on Main, a festival of fun that celebrates high-octane classic and cutting edge vehicles. Each event features a wide variety of show cars and trucks, guaranteed to be polished to a shine and full of horsepower, as well as some interesting feats of engineering that have to be seen to believe. Muscle on Main also features the wildly popular arm drop drag racing events. If you love the smell of burnt rubber, smooth classic chassis and engines that will leave your ears ringing, make sure you stop by!
