Clara Belle Bishop of Nelson County and Jeremiah Jury of Owen County Awarded Top Honors in KFB's 2025 Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth contest

High school students Clara Belle Bishop of Nelson County and Jeremiah Jury of Owen County were named winners of the Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) 2025 Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth contest at the organization’s 106th Annual Meeting. They were each awarded a $3,500 college scholarship, $300 in cash and a piece of luggage as contest prizes.
Clara Belle and Jeremiah were selected from 22 district finalists out of approximately 350 youth who competed in county and district contests over the past several months. At each level, the competition consists of two portions: a personal interview and a two-minute prepared speech related to agriculture or KFB. Contestants are evaluated by three judges with backgrounds in youth work and/or agriculture.
Judges heard speeches and spoke with finalists for personal interviews, awarding points for each contestant’s leadership record, conversational ability and scholastic achievement.
Runners-up in the contest were Adam Blanford of Marion County and Alyssa Benningfield of Taylor County. They each received a $300 cash award and a leather portfolio.
The other district finalists were: Adeline Coleman, Barren County; Lydia Dalbey, Boone County; Brooklyn Dunn, Carlisle County; Maggie McGlone and Lucas Campbell, Fleming County; Westyn Miles, Hopkins County; Lorelai Prewitt, Knox County; Joslyn Hinton and Cyrus Bivens, LaRue County; Austin Van, Laurel County; Cadence McFerron, Lincoln County; Graylen Buchanan, McCracken County; Shawn Wells, Menifee County; Eli Shaw, Metcalfe County; Ben Chaliff, Rockcastle County; Samantha Pecco, Rowan County; Hunter Farmer, Taylor County; Cailey Divine, Union County.
All finalists received luggage pieces and $100 for winning their district competitions.
