Community Focus - WINNERS OF THE FARM SAFETY POSTER CONTEST SPONSORED BY THE KENTUCKY PARTNERSHIP FOR FARM FAMILY HEALTH & SAFETY, INC

Fourth grade students from Logan, Allen, Butler, and Warren Counties were eligible to participate in the Farm Safety Poster Contest after attending the 2013 Progressive Ag Safety Day in their county. The poster theme for the 2014 calendar was "Think Safety First". The top twelve posters were selected to be used in the 2014 Kentucky Partnership calendar. The students who submitted the twelve winning posters were recognized on Saturday evening, January 18, 2014, at the annual dinner meeting of the Kentucky Partnership for Farm Family Health & Safety, Inc. The awards ceremony and dinner were held at the WKU Ag Expo Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Alyson Miller, first place winner from Allen County Intermediate Center, received $150.00; Russell Higgins, second place winner from Auburn Elementary, received $100.00; and third place winner from Allen County Intermediate Center, Madison Lynch, received $50.00. $25.00 was presented to each of the remaining nine winners. The posters were judged on design, originality, artwork, and visual impact. The 2014 calendar was made possible in part by H&R Agri-Power of Russellville.
