CBOT futures closed mostly lower and near the day’s lows. Spring crop insurance guarantees for corn and soybeans are $4.58 and $11.87 per bushel, respectively.  Cattle futures closed lower and mostly in the lower portion of the trading range. Lean hog futures closed higher on strength in cash hog prices and the pork cutout.

CBOT futures closed significantly lower, pressured by disappointing weekly export sales announced this morning. Live cattle closed mixed and feeder futures ended slightly higher. Lean hog futures closed mixed with the April LH up slightly as the October-forward LH contracts posted the bigger losses.

Corn, beans and wheat futures closed sharply higher at/near the day’s highs. Live cattle ended down slightly and feeder futures were marginally higher despite the strong rally in corn. Lean hog futures closed strongly higher with July-forward LH contracts making new contract highs.

CBOT futures closed mixed with wheat up sharply and corn and soybeans moving lower. Cattle futures closed widely mixed with April LC and FC posting the largest losses. Lean hog futures managed to close slightly higher after selling off in the opening minutes of trade.

Corn and soybean futures closed narrowly mixed, while wheat futures ended significantly lower. Cattle futures closed lower with feeders posting larger losses. Lean hog futures closed mostly lower with nearby April LH leading the losses.

CBOT futures closed mixed with strong gains in corn, soybeans and soymeal.  Live Cattle closed higher beyond the February LC contract and feeders finished narrowly mixed.  Lean Hog futures closed slightly higher to strongly higher in the April/May LH contracts.

Reacting to the midday USDA WASDE report, CBOT futures closed widely mixed with corn and wheat lower and soy complex futures higher. Live cattle futures closed mixed and feeder futures rallied on lower corn futures. Lean hog futures closed narrowly mixed with the February LH posting the best gain of 42.5 cents.

CBOT futures closed sharply higher and near the day’s highs. Live cattle closed mostly higher by small amounts while feeder futures ended moderately lower due to soaring corn futures. Lean hog futures closed higher as traders remain bullish on export demand, including from China.

CBOT futures closed mixed but mostly well below the day’s highs. Live and feeder cattle futures closed higher and near the day’s highs. February Lean Hogs closed down 1.35 while the other LH contracts ended barely higher.

CBOT futures closed higher with March corn leading the way; however, all grain/soy futures closed at/near the day’s highs. Cattle futures closed mixed with front-end months lower and deferred contracts higher.  Lean hog futures closed higher in strong follow-through buying to yesterday’s surge in values to contract highs.
