CBOT futures rallied strongly today, led by the wheat complex.  Cattle futures closed lower with feeders weighed down by rising corn futures. Lean hog futures closed modestly higher except for the October LH which saw follow-through selling after its limit-down move yesterday.

CBOT futures closed mostly higher with soybean meal down about one percent. Cattle futures finished narrowly mixed with small trading ranges. Lean hog futures closed sharply lower with the October LH down the daily $3.00 limit. 

CBOT futures closed mixed with corn, soybeans and soyoil higher and near the day’s highs.  Cattle futures closed strongly higher today, supported by Friday’s USDA cattle reports. Lean hog futures closed very narrowly mixed but near the day’s highs.

CBOT futures closed lower to sharply lower on apparent profit-taking and technical selling. Cattle futures rallied for a second straight day on higher boxed beef values and strong weekly beef export sales and export shipments(marketing year high). Lean hog futures closed lower except for the August LH. 

CBOT futures closed mixed with little change for corn and soybean futures. Cattle futures closed higher, recovering some or all of Tuesday’s losses. Lean hog futures closed higher on stronger cash hog prices and pork cutouts.  

Except for MGE spring wheat futures, the grain and soy complex posted higher closes with corn and oats leading the way. Cattle futures closed lower on pressure from weaker boxed beef values and rising corn futures. Lean hog futures closed higher even as the pork cutout weakened. 

CBOT futures closed widely mixed but generally far below the day’s highs which came mostly on Sunday evening when the focus was on the weather. Live cattle closed narrowly mixed while feeder futures finished higher thanks to weakness in CBOT futures. Lean hog futures closed lower on profit-taking amid the risk-off trade caused by energy futures and the stock market. 

CBOT futures closed sharply higher and near the day’s highs. Cattle futures closed lower and near the day’s lows. Lean hog futures closed lower after opening higher this morning.
