Kentucky Ag Literacy Week
Over the past few years, Farm Bureau volunteers have successfully used National Ag Day and Kentucky Ag Literacy Week as an opportunity to promote Kentucky agriculture by reading an “Accurate Ag Book” in classrooms throughout the state. This year we are thrilled to offer our very own children’s book, The Most Wonderful Dream, by Mitchell Tolle. Mr. Tolle, a world renowned Kentucky artist, has painted a U.S. President’s portrait, published four books and from his Kentucky Studio has entertained guests from more than 80 countries. His rural Eastern Kentucky roots, the broad appeal and the demand for his paintings and drawings of the faces and places of our state made him uniquely qualified to create this significant work.
We are asking volunteers to schedule classroom visits in each of Kentucky’s 120 counties during Ag Literacy Week which will occur, Sunday, March 19 - Saturday, March 25. National Ag Day will be observed, Tuesday, March 21, during Kentucky’s Ag Literacy Week and can easily be utilized to help emphasize agricultural literacy. The book is available for ordering at www.amazon.com. Also, through the month of March, the book can be ordered directly through the Kentucky Farm Bureau state office by emailing me at Scott.Christmas@kyfb.com. After Friday, March 31, all books must be ordered through www.amazon.com.
