HillTop Farms Named a Kentucky Farm Bureau Legacy Farm

Grant County Farm Bureau President Natasha Rhoton presents the Legacy Farm award to the Courts Family (HillTop Farms). The award was presented during the county Farm Bureau's annual meeting. The Courts' have farmed their 200 acres for the past 45 years; however, the 2 farms have been farmed by the family for 5 generations beginning in the late 1800's. Pictured L-R Natasha Rhoton, Jackie Courts, Rebekah White, Rachel Magee & Kenny Courts. When farmland goes out of production, it just doesn’t come back. Or if farmland is bought by investors outside of the rural community of which it is a part, the farmers, who have lived there, are no longer around to be a vital part of that community.
