Washington County held their annual meeting on September 17th 2015 at the Mackville Community Center. This year approximately 130 members and special guest attended. After a wonderful meal, the business meeting began.
Three Washington County FFA members participated in the Outstanding Farm Bureau Youth Contest. Prior to the meeting each contestant had an interview and during the meeting they gave a 2 minute speech. The contestants were Alex Cochran, Joseph Cain, and Beth Osbourne.
Representing us at the district meeting Nov. 12th will be Beth Osbourne and Alex Cochran.
Two ladies also participated in our Variety Contest. Gracie Graves sang “December” by Taylor Swift and Chassity Warner sang “Too Good To Be True” by Eden’s Ridge. Both had amazing performances.
Chassity Warner will represent us at the District level.
The meeting covered various activities the federation has participated in and sponsored this year.
After resolutions, treasurers reports, membership and elections of officers/president were covered the meeting came to an end with door prizes.

There will be a dinner, speech contest, ham auction, and door prizes.

Woman’s chair, Grace Hardin and Sarah Hill, Board Secretary, celebrated Ag Literacy week at North Washington Elementary. They were able to read The Beekeeper to around 60 students from preschool to 1st grade. Bob Goodlett and Joe Wohner, members of Washington County Farm Bureau are local beekeepers. They came along and showed the children various equipment and the beekeepers suit. Each child received a sticker, coloring sheet, and bag of honeycombs. The students asked many questions and enjoyed the interesting story.
IFAL Applications are due by April 18th. The Beef Tour is also approaching.
Larry and Grace Hardin attended the AFBF Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas in January.
Sarah Hill and David Teater attended the Congressional Tour in Washington, D.C. in February.
Larry Hardin and George Graves attended the District 5 Meeting in March. Terrance McCain and Dale Medley attended the Young Farmers Futures Seminar as well.

Washington County Farm Bureau held their Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 19, 2013.
There were approximately 130 members and special guest that attended this year.
Larry Hardin was re-elected President. All the directors were re-elected as well.
Stephan Carney and Taylor Blandford were the winners of the Outstanding Youth Contest. They will represent Wash. County at the district level on November 14th. Emilee Graves was the runner up.
The new 2014 resolutions were read and voted upon.
A Country Ham Auction was held. The proceeds all went directly to the Washington County 4-H Ham program. This year’s ham raised $400.00. The money will go towards the building of a ham curing house in Washington County.
Thanks to all our valuable members for their continuous support and we look forward to next year.

The Washington County Farm Bureau held its monthly meeting on Monday, September 2nd.
Washington County’s Annual meeting will be held on Thursday September 19th at 6:30pm. It will be at the Mackville Community Center. Tickets must be reserved in advanced by calling or stopping in the office by September 14th.

The Washington County Farm Bureau held its monthly meeting on Monday, July 1st.
Washington Co. Cattlemen’s Association will be having a field day on July 13th from 9AM to 3PM at the Washington County Extension Office. The Young Farmer Summer outing is July 14th-15th. The District 5 meeting will be July 18th at 7PM at the Mercer Co. Extension Office. The Annual Country Ham Breakfast is August 22nd. Washington County’s Annual meeting will be held on Thursday September 18th at 6:30pm. It will be at Mackville Community Center.

The Washington County Farm Bureau held its monthly meeting on Monday, June 3rd.
Two students will attend IFAL this month. On June 21st the Washington County Cattlemen’s Association will be hosting a fundraiser/cookout at the Springfield State bank. They will also be having a field day on July 13th from 9AM to 3PM at the Washington County Extension Office. The Young Farmer Summer outing is July 14th-15th. The District 5 meeting will be July 18th at 7PM at the Mercer Co. Extension Office. Washington County Farm Bureau is first in the district with membership.

County Board President Larry Hardin and son, Russell, took a cow and baby calf to North Washington Elementary during Ag week. They showed the cow and calf to preschoolers and kindergarteners. They talked to the children about animals and agriculture. The children really enjoyed the experience.

The Washington County Farm Bureau held its monthly meeting on Monday, May 6th.
County Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of 500 dollars each to six winners this year. The county had one awarded at the state level who will receive a 1000 dollar scholarship. We have two students attending IFAL. Regional Teacher workshops are in June and the deadline to register online is June 7th.District 5 meeting will be July 18th at 7PM at the Mercer Co. Extension Office. Washington County Cattlemen will be holding a field day on July 13th from 9AM to 3PM. The Central Kentucky Heifer Sale is on June 1st in Lebanon.

Washington County Farm Bureau held their monthly meeting on Monday, April 1, 2013. In celebration of National Agriculture Week March 17-23, Grace Hardin and James Osbourne visited local schools and read agricultural books to the children. President Larry Hardin also took a cow and a calf to North Washington Elementary to help educate the children. The teachers involved were very grateful and the children learned a lot. Upcoming events in the community include a graded sheep and goat sale at the Washington County Stockyards on April 13. The Washington County Cattlemen will be holding a field day on July 13 at the Extension Property. The next monthly meeting will be Monday, May 6, 2013.

Washington County Farm Bureau held their monthly meeting Monday, March 4, 2013. Washington County’s scholarship program application deadline is Friday, March 15.
National AG week is March 17-23 with National AG day on March 19. It is a time where we go into the elementary schools and help inform children of the importance of agriculture and our local farmers.
IFAL applications are due by April 23. The conferences will be held June 16-20 at Murray State University and June 23-27 at University of Kentucky.
