Ohio county Farm Bureau held our annual meeting August 9th 2012. Reverend Alton Crowe, Ex-Officio, gave a very special Invocation.
We had one of the largest crowds gather for our annual meeting at the Ohio County Extension Building.
Mr. Jerry Black, Ohio County Farm Bureau President welcomed every one and recognized special guests which included, KFB President, Mark Haney, KFB First Vice President, Eddie Melton, KFB Second Vice President, Fritz Giesecke, James Comer, Commissioner of Agriculture, Jerry Rhoads, Senator, Ed Whitfield, Representative, Tommy Thompson, Representative, Suzanne Miles, Aide to Congressman Brett Guthrie.
Larry Westerfield, County Director presented Judge Ranona Browning with the Ohio Co. Farm Bureau Outstanding Member Award.
Taylor Hillard, daughter of Greg & Sandra Hillard, President of Ohio Co. High School FFA, addressed her experience attending the IFAL Program this year at Murray State University sponsored by Ohio County Farm Bureau. We were very honored to have her speak as a confident young lady.
Rylan Tate Smith, son of Kevin & Shannon Smith, performed an impressive violin solo.
He will also enter the KFB District Talent Contest. We wish him the very best!
Our Guest Speaker, James Comer, Commissioner of Agriculture, spoke about the drought and the effect it is having on farmers. He also commended our Ohio County Clerk for her participation in the 4-H and FFA license plate sales. He also spoke passionately about getting the true story out to everyone about the importance of agriculture and commended KFB leaders on their aggressive efforts and leadership in the Agriculture Industry.
Greetings were given by Kentucky Farm Bureau President, Mark Haney.
He spoke on the drought and the need and active participation that Kentucky Farm Bureau has in creating a good Farm Policy in Washington.

Ohio County Farm Bureau held it's Annual Meeting on August 11, 2011 with 115 members and special guests in attendance.
The meeting was opened by Ohio County Farm Bureau President Mr. Jerry Black, the Invocation was given by Ex-Officio/ Director Mr. Alton Crowe.
County President Jerry Black welcomed all members and recognized numerous special guests including KFB President Mark Haney, KFB 1rst Vice President Eddie Melton, KFB 2nd Vice President Fritz Gieseke, KFB Director Pat Henderson, KFB Area Program Director Tony Holloway, and KFB Adjuster Debby Glenn. Several local officials were recognized including Judge Renona Browning, Judge Executive David Johnston, Circuit Clerk Gaynell Allen, PVA Jason Chinn, Magistrate Brandon Thomas, along with several others.
Director Larry Westerfield presented the Outstanding Community Service and Farm Bureau Member award to Mr. Les Johnson.
A tribute and moment of silence was held in memory of Bill Bruce, agency support and marketing manager by KFB First Vice President Mr. Eddie Melton.
Special music was performed by Mr. Paul Moseley who was inducted into the National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame in 2006.
Greetings were given by 2nd Vice President Mr. Fritz Gieseke along with compliments to Ohio County Farm Bureau Agency Manager: TC Sanderfur, Agent: Tyson Sanderfur and office staff.
KFB President Mr. Mark Haney spoke about Kentucky Farm Bureau as a whole, and concerns of debt reduction, farm bill legislative issues, and encouraged all KFB members to vote.
Proposed resolutions were given by County President Jerry Black during the Policy Development Session.
The By-Laws revision was given by County Director Dane Milligan.
The Nominating Committee report was given by County Director L C Midkiff.
The Drawing of door prizes was held by Ohio County Farm Bureau Federation Secretary Barbara Weedman.
The meeting was concluded by a meal prepared and provided by the Ohio County 4H.

Ohio County Farm Bureau's Annual Meeting will be held August 11, 2011 at the Ohio County Extension Building. The meeting will begin at 6:30pm with a guest speaker, food, door prizes and entertainment. We invite all of our Ohio County Farm Bureau members to attend and look forward to seeing you there.

On May 10, 2011, agriculture in the Ohio County School System was at great risk of losing one of only two Agriculture teachers. Ohio County felt this was the beginning of elimination of agriculture being taught in our schools. Federation Secretary, Ms. Barbara Weedman, wrote to our local newspaper in support of future farmers in our county. As always, we here at Ohio County Farm Bureau intend to stay active and supportive of our insured's and our community.

On April 1, 2011, Mr. TC Sanderfur, agency manager of Ohio County Farm Bureau, presented a check for $5,000.00 to Mr. Jarrod T. Brown for the Farm Bureau Theft Reward Program. Ohio County Farm Bureau encourages all of our members to post the Kentucky Farm Bureau theft signs.

Ohio County Farm Bureau held their annual meeting on august 12, 2010. Special guests included: Kentucky Farm Bureau Mark Haney, 2nd Vice President Eddie Melton, State Directors, J. Fritz Gieseke, Patrick Henderson, and Larry Thomas. Organization Director Rick Whobrey, KFB Area Director Tony Holloway, Senator Jerry Rhoads, Field Representative for Ed Whitfield, Ed West, and KFB claims adjuster Debby Glenn. Various county officials also were recognized.
The special county Farm Bureau Member Award was presented to Alton and Marquita Crowe.
Special music was provided by National Thumb Pickers Hall Of Famer, Paul Moseley.
Special recognition was given to the passing of John Kavanaugh and John Hendricks.
All business was presented, and proposed resolutions were approved for consideration at the Kentucky Farm Bureau State Meeting in December.
A special thank you went to Ohio County 4-H for preparing the meal.
After the drawing of door prizes, fellowship and meal was enjoyed by all.

Ohio County Farm Bureau Women’s Chair, Ann Sanderfur, and Co-Chair, Marquita Crowe, read the book ”From Corn to Cereal” to Southern Elementary third graders on March 18, 2010. The students loved it and asked lots of questions. The book was donated to the school library by Ohio County Farm Bureau.

As always, Ohio County Farm Bureau will continue our efforts to offer our members as many services as possible.
