John Maupin represented Madison County Farm Bureau at the 2015 Kentucky Farm Bureau annual meeting during the General Session on Friday, December 4. John played his fiddle during the Variety Showcare.

Jason Rogers the recipient of the 2015 Madison County Young Farmer. Jason received this award at the 2015 MCFB Federation Annual meeting held on July 17, 2015. Jason is pictured with the MCFB Federation Young Farmer Chair, Matt Collins.
Every year MCFB Federation awards 4 scholarships to Madison County Seniors that are regular and associate members. Pictured is one of this year’s recipient. Jena R. Madison County Women’s Committee held a Health Fair at the 2015 MCFB Federation Annual meeting. Having several booths set up to offer the membership education on health and health related issues. Kay Grant and Cheri Stacy from the Madison County Extension Office offered sun safety. Tammy Garrison, RN with Hospice Care Plus provided information about hospice Services, Junie Barclay, RN offered blood pressure screenings, and Carla Baumann introduced people to the role of nurses as coaches, helping identify issues and opportunities to improve their health.

Madison County Farm Bureau had two local student to compete at the District 8 Youth Contest that was held on October 12, 2015, in Rockcastle County. Pictured are President Richard Cobb IV, John Maupin, and Adrianna R. Tennant. John Maupin played a melody with his Fiddle in the talent portion of the competition and Adrianna Tennant competed in the speech portion of the competition. John Maupin did win the District 8 Youth Contest and will represent Madison County in December at the 2015 KFB Annual Meeting that will be held in Louisville.

During Ag Literacy week Ms. Harris' first grade class:
-Read AFBFs Ag book of the year The Apple Orchard Riddle.
-Used the Ag Mag to go with it.
-Had Career day where Rick Griebenow from EKUs Farm came and brought a dairy calf for student to learn about. He also taught them about the uses of corn.
-Greg Harris brought a cow/calf to school. He taught the students about types of feed cows eat as well as how to care for livestock.
-Every Friday there is an Agriculture lesson so students are being exposed each week. After Spring Break they will begin the process of having baby chick eggs and caring for them over a few weeks.

Several Madison County kindergarten and First Grade classes were read the "Apple Orchard Riddle". Waco Elementary, Glenn Marshall Elementary and the Madison Kindergarten Academy.

The MCFB Federation Women's Committe along with Honda of Richmond, conducted an ATV safety awarness eduction at the Madison County Farm Expo, held on September 11th 2014, at the Madison County Fair Grounds.

Madison County Farm Bureau Federation held its 2014 Annual Meeting on July 8th 2014 with approximatley 300 + membership in attendance. The nomination committee recommended nominations of officers and directors to membership. the 2014-2015 officers are: Richard Cobb IV, President, Greg Harris, VP, Chris Cooper, Secretary, and Evan McCord, treasurer. Two new directors - Dwayne Bogie, Randall Winkler, Jr.,and Kevin Fields. The membership also voted to reelect directors: Sue McAfee, Evan McCord, Chris Cooper.
