Market Update - March 6, 2013

Posted on Mar 6, 2013
CBOT futures are trading mixed with old-crop soy futures gaining with everything else down. With a stronger US dollar and lower energy futures, lower prices are the path of least resistance. Corn and wheat futures are at the lows of the day.

Cattle futures are down sharply despite the recent strength in boxed beef values. Futures collapsed in the first 30 minutes of trading, but have since recovered some. The March Feeder Cattle futures contract tested chart support just above $139.

A better-than-expected private jobs report added pressure to Treasury prices which raises rates/yields. The Labor Dept will release its employment report Friday morning.
