Harlan County Farm Bureau has awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each to 5 area graduating seniors. The recipients are Corey Burns, Daniel Miracle, Melany Kelly, Caitlin Dorris and Kellie Halcomb.

Daniel Stephen Miracle, the son of Steve and Patti Miracle, will be attending Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College and majoring in Pharmacy. He wants to be a Pharmacist.

Corey Robert Burns, the son of Robert and Teana Burns, will be attending the University of the Cumberlands and majoring in Secondary Social Studies. He wants to be a Social Studies Teacher.

Kellie Ann Halcomb, the daughter of Ricky and Margaret Halcomb, will be attending the University of Kentucky and majoring in Psychology. She wants to be a Child Psychologist specializing in child development.

Caitlin Noelle Dorris, the daughter of Kimberly Kelly, will be attending the University of Kentucky and majoring in Pre-med. She wants to be a Molecular Pathologist.

Melanie Nicole Kelly, the daughter of Joey and Alicia Kelly, will be attending Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College and majoring in Dental Hygiene. She wants to be a Dental Hygienist.

Harlan County Farm Bureau Agent’s Scholarship has awarded scholarships in the amount of $500.00 each to 2 area graduating seniors. The recipients are Jarod Michael Craig and John William Slusher.

Jarod Michael Craig, the son of Britt and Lisa Craig, will be attending the University of Kentucky and majoring in Biology. He wants to be a Dentist.

John William Slusher, the son of John and Lisa Slusher, will be attending the University of Kentucky and majoring in political science. He wants to be an Attorney.

Harlan County Farm Bureau has awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,250 each to 4 area graduating seniors. The recipients are Lauren Hogue, Lacey Doyle, Mariah Lewis and Breana Dunson.

Lauren Hogue, the daughter of Christopher and Dana Hogue, will be attending Asbury University and majoring in Chemistry. She wants to be a Chemical Engineer.

Mariah Lewis, the daughter of Bernard and Selena Lewis, will be attending Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College and majoring in Nursing. She wants to be a Registered Nurse.

Lacey Doyle, the daughter of Charles and Christie Salyer, will be attending the University of Pikeville, and majoring in Osteopathic Medicine.

Breana Dunson, the daughter of John and Stacey Franklin, will be attending the University of Kentucky. She will pursue a career in medicine.

Harlan County Farm Bureau has awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to 5 area graduating seniors. The recipients are Amanda Lynn Tolliver, Ariel L. Hyatt, Bridgett Daniele Farley, Katlyn R. Estep and Mitchell Riley Osborne.

Amanda Tolliver, the daughter of Landon and Cheryl Tolliver of Bledsoe, will be attending Lincoln Memorial University and majoring in secondary education. She wants to be a high school history teacher.

Ariel Hyatt, the daughter of Jeffrey and Tammy Hyatt of Loyall, will be attending Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College and majoring in Secondary Education. Her goal is to be a high school English teacher.

Bridgett Farley, the daughter of Daniel Patrick and Tonya Farley of Wallins, will be attending Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College and majoring in Speech Pathology.

Katlyn Estep, the daughter of Cathy and Jack Estep of Loyall, will be attending the University of the Cumberlands and majoring in Physical Therapy.

Riley Osborn, the son of Leann Osborne of Bledsoe, will be attending Alice Lloyd College and majoring in Social Studies Education. He wants to work for the Kentucky State Police.
