County Farm Bureaus support every community in the Commonwealth through information, products and service programs including: Women's Leadership Activities, Ag in the Classroom, Commodity Market Information, Scholarships, Certified Roadside Farm Markets and our Young Farmers program. Harlan County Attends Legislative Drive-In: Harlan County Farm Bureau was represented at the Legislative Drive In at Frankfort.

District 11 Meeting: Harlan County Farm Bureau had ten representatives at the District 11 Legislative Meeting in Whitesburg, Kentucky at the Pine Mountain Grill.

Harlan County Celebrates National Ag Week: Harlan County Farm Bureau celebrated National Agriculture Week by reading a book ”Zinnia’s Flower Garden” by Monica Wellington to the Harlan Elementary second grade class.

Supporting the Tri-County Empty Stocking Fund: On December 3, 2014, the Harlan County Farm Bureau Board of Directors donated a check in the amount of $1000 to the Tri-City Empty Stocking Fund.

Harlan County Honored in Kentucky Farm Bureau's County Activities of Excellence Program: Harlan County Farm Bureau was honored as one of the five winners in the 2014 Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) County Activities of Excellence program. All five recipients of the award were recognized during the December 4, 2014 general session of KFB’s annual meeting in Louisville.

2015 Annual Tree Giveaway: Harlan County Farm Bureau’s Annual Tree Giveaway was April 23. As a service to our members, we gave away 1,000 trees.

2015 Soil Stewardship and Awards Banquet: The annual Harlan County Conservation District’s Soil Stewardship and Awards Banquet was held April 28, 2015 at the Ackley Lodge Dining Hall at Camp Blanton in Harlan County Kentucky.

2015 Poke Sallet Festival: KFB board members and insurance staff participated in the annual Poke Sallet festival.

KWOA Award Presented to HCFB Board: The Kentucky Woodland Owners Association (KWOA) presented an outstanding service award plaque to Harlan County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

April 8, 2024: When farmland goes out of production, it just doesn’t come back. Or if farmland is bought by investors outside of the rural community of which it is a part, the farmers, who have lived there, are no longer around to be a vital part of that community.
