Generation Bridge Brings New Leadership Opportunities to Specific Member Group

As Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Centennial Year came to a close in 2019, the Vision 100 Committee was created at the direction of KFB President Mark Haney.  This committee, comprised of KFB volunteer leaders from the local level, as well as staff from both the Federation and the Insurance Company, was convened to help guide strategic planning for the future of the entire organization.

Corn, wheat and soybean/meal futures posted sizable losses again today as prices further correct off contract highs. Cattle futures closed mixed with live cattle lower and feeders higher. Lean hog futures opened steady but rallied strongly to close much higher.

Leadership Elected for Kentucky Farm Bureau's "Generation Bridge Committee"

Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) has released the names of individuals elected to lead its new initiative, Generation Bridge. Amanda Gajdzik of Shelby County has been elected chair, Tammy White of Union County is vice chair, and Sarah Beth Guffey from Clinton County is secretary of this newly formed committee.

CBOT futures closed mostly lower and near the day’s lows, with sharp losses in soybeans and soybean meal. Cattle futures closed mostly higher but well off the day’s highs that were set about an hour into trading. Lean hog futures opened near steady but quickly headed lower and finished near the day’s lows.

Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Ryan Quarles invites Kentucky’s youth to participate in the Kentucky Pollinator Stakeholders Art Contest. The contest is designed to educate the public on the benefits of pollinators and encourage behaviors that promote pollinator habitats across Kentucky.
