Generation Bridge Brings New Leadership Opportunities to Specific Member Group

As Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Centennial Year came to a close in 2019, the Vision 100 Committee was created at the direction of KFB President Mark Haney.  This committee, comprised of KFB volunteer leaders from the local level, as well as staff from both the Federation and the Insurance Company, was convened to help guide strategic planning for the future of the entire organization.

CBOT futures closed steady in old-crop corn but lower in wheat, soybeans and meal. Cattle futures closed steady to slightly lower in both live cattle and feeders.  Lean hog futures closed mixed with nearby February LH lower.

CBOT futures closed mixed but generally far below the day’s highs which were established overnight.  Cattle futures closed lower with slight losses in live futures and modest losses in feeder cattle.  Excluding the February LH, lean hog futures closed slightly lower after some contracts scored new contract highs.

As a ninth-generation farmer, I have been surrounded by a strong farm family all of my life. Our roots in LaRue County date back to a time when Abraham Lincoln’s family lived here.

With those deep roots, the agriculture industry is more than just a family business to me. It is a passion, and tradition, and a duty to those we help feed throughout our state, our nation and the world.
