KFB Wins Awards of Excellence from American Farm Bureau

Kentucky Farm Bureau took home several organizational awards presented at this year’s American Farm Bureau Federation’s (AFBF) 101st annual convention.  Each year state Farm Bureaus are presented awards in different categories related to programs and initiatives.

Kentucky’s only ethanol plant, Commonwealth Agri Energy, is producing a record amount of fuel ethanol and other co-products following a recent expansion.  General Manager Mick Henderson discussed the growth of the facility, the increased production and other details as he presented the annual report to the Hopkinsville Elevator Cooperative this month.

CBOT futures closed very mixed with gains for wheat and losses for soybeans and meal; corn ended nearly steady. Cattle futures closed slightly higher except for nearby October LC which gained $1.35/cwt. December LH futures closed mixed with nearby December LH futures losing $1.50; this follows Tuesday’s $3.00 limit-up move.
