Kirby Green from Daviess County wins Excellence in Agriculture Award

Kirby Green from Daviess County has won top honors in Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) Excellence in Agriculture Awards program for 2019. She received the award during the organization’s recent Annual Meeting at the Galt House in Louisville.

Kentucky FFA members returned home from the National FFA Convention with two national championships and a number of top ten finishers.  Kentucky FFA Agricultural Education Consultant Matt Chaliff says there were also several Kentuckians who received the National FFA Degree.

First District Congressman James Comer says the Food and Drug Administration needs to quickly develop some regulations for products derived from industrial hemp that are consumed by members of the public.  Commissioner Comer says the regulations will help set a national standard to determine if a product is safe for the public.

Market Closes - November 11, 2019

CBOT futures closed mostly lower with beans and meal leading the way down.  Cattle futures closed moderately higher, but near the day’s highs. Futures were lifted by last Friday’s stronger cash cattle market.  Lean Hog futures closed mixed with December LH down a sharp 82 cents on weaker cash hog prices.
