Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer says the recent Kentucky State Fair is a perfect example of urban and rural Kentucky coming together to celebrate the importance of agriculture.  Mayor Fischer discussed the local food movement in Louisville and the need for the urban community to support farmers in the state at the recent Farm Bureau Country Ham Breakfast.

USDA Farm Service Agency Director Richard Fordyce says farmers should be receiving the first round of Market Facilitation Program payments in the mail very soon.  Administrator Fordyce discusses the application process, the money that will be paid out and the possibility of another round of payments should the trade war with China continue.

After the Black Patch Festival was put on hold for World War II in 1941, it wasn't held again until the early 1970’s.  Roy Gene Rogers talks about the modern day festival that will take place Friday, September 6, and Saturday, September 7, the events taking place and one of the main reasons behind the festival.
