March 2010: More than a hundred farmers from throughout the state came to a Senate Agriculture Committee meeting in Frankfort last month to show support for legislation creating a system for establishing livestock care standards in the state.

May 2010: KFB's top priority for the 2010 legislative session was achieved with passage of a law creating a system for establishing livestock care standards. The measure started out as a Senate bill (SB 105) but was eventually merged into House Bill 398, a similar proposal for the equine industry.

KFB Day at the State Fair is Thursday, August 26 with a full schedule of activities for members. The 47th Annual Kentucky Country Ham Breakfast and Auction, a perennial sellout, will be held in South Wing Conference Center, beginning at 7:30 am. The grand champion country ham will be auctioned and the proceeds donated to charity. Last year's champion ham from Scott Hams of Greenville fetched a record $1.3 million from co-winning bidders Republic Bank and Proof on Main.

September 2010: For the second straight year the winning bid for the Grand Champion Country Ham at the KFB's State Fair breakfast fetched a record bid, with Republic Bank and Dr. Mark Lynn & Associates agreeing to contribute $800,000 each, comprising a record $1.6 million.

October 2010: KFB Participated in the recognition of the 67th observation of National Farm Safety & Health Week by helping to produce a "Pep Rally for Life" for the students of Shelby County High School. Held on the school's football field, the event stressed safety practices through a selection of exhibits featuring a full-scale mock ATV accident response.

December 2010: Pulaski County farmer Mark Haney was re-elected president of KFB on the concluding day of the organization's 91st annual meeting. Webster County's Eddie Melton was elected to fill the vacant role of First Vice-President, and Hart County's J. Fritz Giesecke was elected as Second Vice-President. They comprise KFB's Executive Committee along with Executive Vice President David S. Beck.
