Kentucky farmers are concerned about a proposal that would freeze the state property tax rate and result in a tax increase.  Breckinridge County farmer Pat Henderson, who chairs the Farm Bureau Tax Committee, says farmers want to see the current property tax structure, that was adopted in 1979, remain in place.

Beef cattle producers and youth will bring their best livestock to the West Wing of the Kentucky Exposition Center March 2nd through the 4th to compete for top prizes at the Kentucky Farm Bureau Beef Expo.  Farm Bureau Livestock Committee Chairman Fritz Gieske says the Beef Expo is a great way to celebrate Kentucky being the largest beef cattle state east of the Mississippi River.

Wheat farmers, crop advisers, county extension agents and others will have a chance to learn more about early disease and weed problems in the 2018 wheat crop this week.  Extension Assistant Kelsey Mehl previews the annual Wheat Green-up Field School that will be held Thursday, March 1st, at the University of Kentucky Research and Education Center in Princeton.
