Natural Resource Conservation Service Chief Matt Lohr says his department is focused on implementing the 2018 Farm Bill, customer service and making sure the agency has enough staff to properly serve farmers around the country.  Lohr, who is a Virginia farmer, says one of the highlights so far has been listening to success stories told by farmers around the country.

United States Senator Rand Paul is hoping the H2A and H2B Red Tape Reduction Act will help make it easier for farmers and others who use the Guest Worker program to get the manpower they need for their operations.  Senator Paul says the legislation, that is receiving bipartisan support, will make the application and reporting system electronic and will streamline other processes.

Corn farmers and consumers in Kentucky will all see the benefits of the year-round sale of gasoline mixed with 15 percent ethanol.  Kentucky Corn and Small Grain Growers Executive Director Laura Knoth says the EPA rule change, that took effect June 1, will help increase the sale of ethanol and ultimately provide a larger market for corn.
