CBOT futures closed steady to lower after trading both sides of unchanged.  Cattle futures closed higher and in the upper range. Buyers hit the market from the opening bell, adding to Monday’s strong closing action.  Lean hog futures closed mixed with weakness in the Dec and Feb contracts and firm values in April and beyond contracts.

CBOT futures closed mostly steady to lower with late-session trading taking corn and wheat to the day’s highs while soybeans traded near the day’s lows.  Cattle futures closed strongly higher with Feeder Cattle closing near the day’s highs. Futures were supported by technical buying.  Lean Hog futures closed mixed with modest gains in Dec/Feb/April and steady closes for June-forward contracts. Futures were supported by higher cash hog prices and a stronger pork market.

CBOT futures closed mixed again today with minimal price changes. Futures climbed through the morning on good corn/bean export news, but began their sell-off about 11:15 CT.   Cattle futures traded lower for the first 30 minutes of trading but then trended higher the rest of the trading day; this resulted in very strong closes and the high end of the trading range.  Lean Hog futures gapped higher at the opening and never looked back, resulting in sharply higher closes near the day’s highs.

Corn, soybean and soybean meal futures closed strongly higher; wheat markets were mixed. Support for corn and soy futures came from strong export data which encouraged heavy fund buying especially in corn where short-covering magnified buying.

CBOT futures closed lower with sharp losses in corn and wheat futures. The large funds were reported to be big sellers, especially in corn. The sharp drop in crude oil futures which occurred overnight pressured CBOT prices.  Live Cattle futures closed moderately lower in follow-through selling from Monday’s lower market. Losses were limited by a stronger boxed beef market.

CBOT futures closed mixed with corn and wheat closing near the day’s lows. Corn traded higher Sunday evening in sympathy with a strong soybean complex rally. Cattle futures closed mostly lower, pressured by profit-taking following last Friday’s strong price action where futures “gapped higher”.

CBOT closed mostly steady to higher with soybean meal futures leading the market higher. Weakness in soybean oil limited gains in soybeans. Like Monday, Live Cattle went up and Feeder Cattle went down – if only by small amounts. Live Cattle found support from higher boxed beef values.  Lean Hog futures tried to move higher at the opening bell but quickly failed.

CBOT futures closed higher, led by a sharp move up in the soy complex.   Corn futures gained better than one percent with support from the soy complex, a weaker US Dollar and strong weekly export shipments(inspections).  Live Cattle futures closed slightly higher but well off the day’s midday highs on late-day profit-taking. Futures rose quickly following the opening bell on support from Friday’s neutral Cattle on Feed Report and last week’s strong cash cattle market which averaged $107.91/cwt per USDA.

CBOT futures closed higher with support coming from better-than-expected weekly export sales reported for corn, wheat and soybeans this morning by USDA.  Cattle futures closed narrowly mixed despite a strong cash market Wednesday reported at $108-110.

?CBOT futures closed higher and in the upper range as futures rallied throughout the day. A significant factor was a very strong persistent rally in crude oil futures.  Live Cattle futures closed higher in the April 2017 and beyond contracts. The nearby December LC closed steady as traders wait for cash markets to develop.
